Before I start talking about the roller coaster I want to say what i will be talking about. I will be talking about 3 points on the roller coaster that was on the sheet, point 1 ,2, and 6. I will explain if the GPE is increasing or decreasing and if the KE is increasing or decreasing. If you don’t already know GPE is NOT moving and it has height, and KE is moving. One more thing before i start talking about the points, the roller coaster starts with 0 GPE because it hasn't reached it hasn’t reached any height since it is at the start. It has 0 KE because it hasn't started moving. Now that I have told you what you will read about I will start to tell you about the points.
Point 1 has the most GPE because it is at the highest point and it has the most potential to fall. Point 1 has the least KE because it is at the top and it isn't moving. At Point 2 the GPE is decreasing because it is at it's lowest height. At point 2 the KE is about to increase because it is moving at a fast pace and ready to go up to point 3. After discussing points 1 and 2 i will go on to discuss point 6. At point 6 the GPE is at in because it is on a hill, it isn’t moving and it is at it's lowest point because it cant go any higher then point 1 but it cant get any lower then point 6. The KE is decreasing because it is on a hill and the hill makes the speed decrease because it gains more GPE.
To finish this off I think that the amount of GPE is connected to the amount of KE on a real roller coaster because in order to get KE it needs to have potential to fall. Or in other words in order for the coaster to move it has to have the potential to move. That's all for now I guess! Bye bye :)
